How to cook fresh corn?!

Question:

How to cook fresh corn?

Answers:
Corn on the cob can be prepared any number of ways!

1) husk the corn and remove the silks. Place the ears of corn into a large pot with 1 to 2 inches of water then cover the pot and bring it to a boil. The steam from the water will cook the corn in 10 to 15 minutes.
2) leave the husks on the corn ears and place them on an out door grill. Leave them on the grill fire for about 15 minutes turning them so that all sides are done evenly. Take the ears of corn off the grill and husk them (be careful not to burn yourself).
Enjoy!

If it is on the cob cook it about 1 hour in boiling water less time if it off the cob.

Bring to a boil for 10 minutes. If you over cook, it will get chewy!
Enjoy!

corn is still on the cob, I assume.

classic way is to peel off the leaves and silk, boil it for a few minutes and serve with butter, salt and pepper to taste. (boiling longer gets softer corn)

one of my favorites is to pull back a leav and some silk, pack on the butter, salt and pepper, put the silk and leaf back place, wrap in tin foil and cook in coals. You could also back in the oven or grill like this but it's not the same.

YOU CAN BBQ IT OR BOILED
I LOVED BOTH WHEY'S WITH E LITTLE BUTTER AND SALT
MMMM!!!!!!
YA-MY YAM.

Our family favorite: Shuck and wash corn. Wrap in tin foil and cook on the grill. It doesn't take that long and the taste is awesome. Gotta serve it with butter and salt.

You need to cook sweet corn really fast. Drop it, shucked, into boiling water for no more than 5 minutes. I have heard as little as 1 minute.

As you cook sweet corn the sugars (which of course make the corn sweet) in it turn into starch, this cause the corn to lose its sweet characteristic flavor.

Husk them and remove the silk. Rub lightly with olive oil and place on the grill. Grill until lightly charred on the outside.

One hour is waaaayyyyy to long to cook it on the cob. You will have shriveled little pieces of rubber on the cob if you cook it for that long. After the water is boiling, drop the corn in the water and cook it for 10-15 minutes.

My favorite way is to throw it on the grill and roast it still in the shuck. Cook it till the outer layer of the shuck is slightly burnt, rotate it so it will cook evenly, and carefully with oven mits , remove the shuck and add butter and enjoy .

everyone else has already given good suggestions. Another one is to steam it as this is healthier. Steaming keeps in the nutrients better than boiling. Also one hour is way too long, it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Depends how many cobs you have in the pot. bbqing is good too. Or even roasting in the oven with butter and garlic.

FAST, EASY & GOOD

Shuck the corn and wrap it in plastic wrap with about two tables spoons of butter distributed through out.

Put in microwave for 6 minutes

Careful it will be H-O-T with steam. Cuidado.

YUMMY

you can grill it with the husks on and you can also boil it for a few minutes

The best corn in my opinion is grilled. We add a lot of butter, salt, and the secret ingredient, sugar. Wrap the corn in foil and place on grill, being careful not to burn it because the sugar has a tendency to scorch. However, it really is delicious!

4 minutes in a microwave over water, or wrapped in wet paper towels

I like BBQing, when I have a BBQ.

Soak unpeeled corn for about 20 minutes before putting on the grill. You get the flavour of the fire plus the cooking of the steam.

The fresher the corn the sweeter.

Then there is Pirate Corn for $12 / dozen.

That's a buck an ear.

We love to eat freshly bbq white corn on the cobb.

To prepare soak in sinkful of cold water for a little while before peeling the husks and the silks off of it.

Take butter in clean hand and corn cobb in other hand. Rub butter all over corn evenly and lay the cobb onto a piece of foil that will wrap around corn.

Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper.

Wrap tightly with foil and put onto BBQ grill just a few minutes before you're ready to eat.

Corn on the cobb doesn't need to be "Cooked" as that destroys it. You only need to "Heat" the corn.

We put it on the top grill for 2 to 5 minutes max.

Simply unwrap and enjoy!

Well some say to cook ears of corn in milk...it is supposed to make it more tender. I always boil mine in water and they come out just fine....just boil until tender.....serve with butter and salt.
