Can i pull bakeing a cake or cookies with out putting any shorteing? just wondering! and if i dont will it come out right?

Answers:
No, it will be dry and crumbly, fall apart, and won't taste good, either. Use the shortening, and don't worry about calories from fat. Sugar is way worse for you in cakes and cookies, anyway!

If you don't use shortening or a shortening substitute the cake or cookies will not be as light as they should be and may be too dry. If you are trying to avoid fat, the are are a couple of great substitutes. Use applesauce instead or buy a product (prune based) in the baking section of your grocery store, usually near the yeast, for fat substitute. I also like to use prune baby food.
