How do i tenderize my own cuts of beef?!

Question:

How do i tenderize my own cuts of beef?

Answers:
You can do it several ways.

If the cuts of beef are your own, are you cutting them as well? If so, the way you cut could be important. The muscle fibers make meat tough, so cutting through these fibers can help.

You can also use a meat tenderizing tool (the mallet looking things with spikes on one end). Use the end with the spikes to put holes in the meat. but be careful that you don't hit it too hard/much because you could tear a hole in the cuts. You can also do this with a skilled or other heavy object, but I've found the mallet works best.

Marinating the meat or using a commercial tenderizer may also help. Cooking techniques, that take a long time and require quite a bit of moisture can also help.

Once the meat is cooked, slice it against the grain. This will split the muscle fibers, once again increasing the tenderness.

My fiancee is a meat and potatoes guy. We cook a lot of different cuts of meat.

get a meat tenderizer

Beat the heck out of them with a wooden mallot made for tenderizing meat. If you don't have one.....just put the meat in a baggie and beat it with a rolling pin. This will break down the toughness of the meat!! Good luck.

using a mallet will work but salt, or premade "meat tenderizor" (buy in herb section of grocery store) will work...also marinades are a great way to tenderize less expensive cuts of meat

Tougher cuts of beef can be tenderized by pounding thin slices into even thinner slices, using a meat mallet. The pounding action flattens the meat and breaks up some of the fibers and connective tissues, making the beef a bit more tender.

Cooking the tenderized beef rapidly with high heat cooking methods is an important factor in keeping the meat tender. The flattened beef slices may be broiled, grilled, or sautéed, which provide excellent results

Stab it w/a fork

You can sprinkle sugar on them and put them in the fridge for 30 to 45 min..... when you cook them the sugar will cook away and you will not taste it ... just season them the way you like

marinate
