GT Xpress 101?!

Question:

GT Xpress 101?

This thing just reminds me of the Toastmaster sandwich maker, but my husband wants one. He cooks dinner 2 nights a week. Is it worth it? Has anyone actually cooked a good meal with it?

I am a former chef from Canada and I own one, the company is in my home town and I bought it at a warehouse sale a few years back.

The informercial is helpful, but it is something you can experiment with, the only thing is there is no timer, so you have to gauge the cooking times.

For most things a light pressing or the fork test is fine, but meats and fish even poultry need to be done well. It is something you learn over time.

I have made the stuffed soup, fish and steak with asparagas, you are best to pound the meat to allow it to expand and keep the veg inside. But anything you can think of is a food that can be cooked in it. The cakes have to be mixed at the last minute and for the one with the angel food cake and fresh berries, just make sure they are not filled much over half way or it will over flow.

Get one, they are a real time saver and even young chilren, not under 12 can use them for snack and fast meals.

i want one to, like it better than a sandwich maker because it has meal sized servings rather than just sandwich pockets!

I've never cooked on one, but if you order now, it's only 2 payments of $19.95 and you get another one free! lol Don't you just love sales strategies! I hadn't even heard of it, so I checked it out on the web. Wish I could see the infomercial. Have you? Something has made him want one. It's not that expensive, I'd say go for it, and than you have a second one to give away a a gift. I hope it all works out.

I have one, have had it for a couple of years now. I LOVE it!!! I have made cookies (fresh and frozen dough), omelets, Huevo's Rancheros, Rueben sandwiches.... sooooo many things. The cook books help, but use your imagination!!
