Father's Day Steak Meal?!

Question:

Father's Day Steak Meal?

Just wanted to know what you thought of this meal for my fiance'. This will be his 2nd father's day.

*T-Bone Steak
*Scallop Potatoes
*Grean Beans
*Garlic Toast
*Oreo Pie for dessert

I was thinking of omitting the garlic toast because he had plenty of garlic breadsticks last night(Olive Garden) and he might be tired of bread for awhile. Is there anything I should add or take away. Do you have any recipe ideas that I could use? Thanks!

Answers:
Honey it sounds perfect to me.

You could make a small garden salad, possibly with a "crescent roll" with it.
Sounds really good!!!!

No to the toast and pie. Make a fruit pie or bake a cake.

Hmm sounds great. Give him some extra dessert (wink wink) if you really want to make him happy.

Some alone time with the wife is always nice.

Sounds like you have a real good start as it is......

that sounds great to me. i LOVE steak, especially mine!!!!!
my daughter said she doesn't like eating steak out anymore, because it isn't as good as mine!!! isn't that a sweet compliment!!!!!

maybe do:
T-bone w/ sauteed mushrooms in butter/garlic
Scallop Potatoes
Asparagus w/ a hollandaise sauce
Fresh cheese/garlic bread, or just Italian bread, warm w/ butter
Oreo Pie

He will love anything you do!! Have fun..

I think that's wonderful. What a lucky dad!
The meal sounds terrific. Just an idea- if you are bbq the steak anyway, you could do the beans on the grill with some olive oil and a little s&p and throw on some portabello mushrooms with balsamic vinegar and olive oil sprinkled on them. Really tasty. Yum to the oreo pie!
Have a great time.

With a Steak I would rather have a Baked Potato, Scallop Potatoes does not sound good w/ a Steak to my.

That is just my opinion though, You know what he likes

I would have baked potato's and a salad. but what you have sound's great I am just use to baked pot. with sour cream with steak and a salad with steak just goes together.

sounds great.... your dad will love it .. I know mine would

Instead of scalloped potatoes, try a big baked potato for the Fiance Dad, topped with sour cream, topped with green onion tops chopped [or chives], bits of bacon or Baco's, lose the garlic toast--go for crunchy French rolls [to soak up the steak juices!] and spring for Real Butter - a pat on the steak as well as available for the rolls. Have a dish of nicely sliced tomatoes with a side of mayo or Ranch dressing. BEST frozen apple pie is Mrs. Smith's Deep Dish one...absolute heaven, and you can bake it in the morning to get it out of the way...you'll need about 70-75 minutes to get the pie to the ultimate brown luscious condition. Oreo Pie is gooood, true, but a little too rich 'n gooey for your major dinner scenario. Don't lose the green beans...cook them with a skoshi of Worcestershire as seasoning. Bon appetit!

Ok that sounds real good. When is dinner???? I will be there. ha ha! Im going to tell my wife to fix that for me. WOW!
