Pancakes???!

Question:

Pancakes???

My boyfriend is planning on spending a few nights over at my apartment and I wanted to make him breakfast in the morning. He loves pancakes w/ friut (ig blueberries and strawberries). Do I just add them to the pancake mix or do I have to do something special??? Might be a stupid question but I'm not familiar AT ALL with the kitchen. Please help.

Answers:
You can do either. Add it to the batter and cook or pour over the top when the pancake is done. It's your choice or his preference.

Add the fruit just before putting on the griddle or you can put it on the top once they are cooked.

For the blueberries you just add them to the mix but the strawberries ar eusually put on top of the finished pancake. But, if you want to add them in you have to chop them up then add them into the batter.

put the fruit in a bowl with some sugar....let it marinate for awhile....Make the pancakes & then serve him the pancakes with the marinated fruit & juice over the pancakes...
He'll love it!

just fold them into the pancake mix prior to spooning them out....Dont stir too hard though cuz you don't want to totally crush them and have completely blue pancakes...

(peaches are really good served on top with syrup!

Since you want to make this special, here's what you can do. Just buy the mix-with-water type of pancake mix, make the batter, toss in some frozen fruit (or fresh, if you prefer) like blueberries or strawberries, put it on the griddle for just a few moments, flip it, and put them aside to cool. Make sure they're cool before you put some whip cream and more frehs fruit on top. Super easy, fun and delicious.

If you don't have time to go and grab some fruit, try this on instead, my little brother made it up and its sooo gooood. Make the easy batter again, add a few drops of vanilla extract and a few shakes of cinnamon and then griddle them up. Serve with coffee, they're perfect together.

Pour the batter into the pan and then dribble the pieces of fruit into the wet batter (not a whole lot, just several pieces) then when you flip the pancake they'll cook-in. Nice to serve with some of the fresh fruit alongside. Extra points if you ask him how he does it. Lose points if you ask him how his mommy does it.

It will be better to cook the blueberries in the pancake mix. Pops

Blueberry pancakes: after you make the batter from the pancake mix, throw in some washed blueberries which you have blotted dry on a dishtowel. For a recipe off the box, which makes a good amount for two, and if he REALLY likes blueberries, put in about a cup of them--stir gently so they don't squish and make blue streaks. Then use a couple of 'glops' [using the stirring-spoon] for each pancake on a greased griddle or good frying-pan. Instead of regular pancake sirup, look for berry sirup at the store...this makes for a Double Berry Impression on the bf.

Strawberry...easy! Clean & hull the berries, cut them in quarters [for big ones, in half for little guys] and add a little plain sugar...let the berries stand in their bowl while you make the batter. AFTER you've cooked the pancakes, spoon a glop of berries [juice included...juice makes itself from berries and sugar that have stood a while] on each stack of pancakes. If you want to REALLY be impressive, put a spritz of Redi-Whip whipped cream on top of the stack, decorating with One Perfect Berry.

Yum! Bon appetit, girl!

Thoughtful girl. For a lighter pancake that won't feel heavy in your tummy, try substituting club soda for milk in the mix. I know it sounds weird and I thought it was wacky too until I tried it. Makes the pancakes lighter, easier on the digestive system....plus they taste so good, too.

cut the strawberries and add about 2 tablespoons of sugar to it and let them set over night ,,then you can make some plain pancakes and a few with blueberries added when you are cooking then he can top the plain ones with the fresh strawberries and some syrup mrs buttersworth or real maple is the best,or he can have blue berry with just syrup sounds yummy
its even more special to make them from scratch as well

3 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup milk
3 eggs
1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions:.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and baking soda; stir well.
In a separate bowl, beat together buttermilk, milk, eggs and melted butter. Keep the two mixtures separate until you are ready to cook. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. You can flick water across the surface and if it beads up and sizzles, it's ready!
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, using a wooden spoon or fork to blend. Stir until it's just blended together. Do not over stir!
Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/2 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
Freeze the leftovers. From freezer, just reheat in microwave.

they have a bisquick mix in a jug you just shake and pour

Two answers:
1) Fresh should always be rinsed and strained, you can cut the strawberries to fit the size of the uncut blueberries.
2) Frozen berries thaw and strain.
a. If sweetened or syrup-ed, you can either rinse and strain or strain as much of the liquid out and thaw of course.
b. If unsweetened thaw strain.
Try to eliminate any unnecessary liquid from the fruit, it can alter the hotcakes.
it is easier to use the fresh. mix you batter first and when you are ready, add the fruit, give it a quick stir or fold it a couple of times and you are good to pour.

You can add friut to the pancakes and cook them that way or you can put the fruit in a saucepan with a cup of water and about 1/2 cup of sugar and simmer slowly until you have a fruit glaze to pour over pancakes .. Either way is good

The cooked strawberries tend to turn to mush when cooked, so they might be better added later in thin slices. Blueberries should be washed but dry, and sprinkled on once the batter has been poured into the pan.

Later on, if he likes those sort of things, you can try making some crepes (like thin/eggy pancakes) with fruit wrapped up in the middle. You can add whipped cream to the inside of the wrap or put on the top.

I just add mine to the batter pour it in the pan and cook them yummy!!!
