Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs top round steaks, cut into strips
1 medium onion, chopped
3 tablespoons butter or 5 tablespoons butter (if using fresh mushrooms)
3 tablespoons flour
1 can beef consomme
1 tablespoon catsup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 dash nutmeg
1 (6 ounce) can mushrooms, drained or 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms
1 cup sour cream, room temperature

Steps:
1. Set sour cream aside to warm to room temperature.

2. Saute onions in 3 Tbsp butter.

3. Stir in flour.

4. Gradually add consomme, stirring constantly.

5. Add catsup, worcestershire, pepper, basil, and nutmeg.

6. Simmer at least 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

7. Brown meat, salt and add to completed sauce.

8. Add canned mushrooms.

9. For fresh mushrooms, saute in 2 Tbsp butter, then add to sauce.

10. Just before serving, stir in sour cream and heat.

11. Do not allow to boil.

12. Serve with egg noodles or rice.

a can of cream of mushroom soup 1 lb of beef and a pack of egg noodles

Sorry, this isn't the original Beef Strogonof, It's a quick and easy version of it though. * Cook Ground Beef then add a can of Cream of Mushroom Soup, add alittle Milk if you want it thinner or less salty, add Black Pepper (optional). You can eat it over rice or noodles.

BEEF STROGANOFF

1 lb. steak (I use leftover steak)
1 onion
Oil for cooking
1 clove garlic, pressed
1 can cream of mushroom soup
12 oz. fresh mushrooms
1/2 c. water or white wine
2 c. egg noodles, cooked and drained
1 tbsp. parsley

Slice steak into thin strips. Chop onion. Set aside. Slice mushrooms. Set aside. Heat wok or frying pan. Circle with oil. Stir garlic. Add and fry steak, onions, and add in mushrooms, about 3-4 minutes later. Stir in soup and sour cream. Stir in wine or water. Cook for 15-3 minutes. Cook noodles. Serve over noodles. Garnish with parsley.

OVEN-BAKED STROGANOFF
2 1/2 lbs. steak, cut in thin strips (good with venison steak)
1 lg. onion, thinly sliced
1 clove garlic, mashed
3 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. tomato paste
1/2 c. sour cream
5 tbsp. salad oil
2 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. dry red wine
1 bay leaf, crumbled
1/2 c. beef broth or consomme
In frying pan, brown strips of beef or venison in oil; transfer meat to 3 quart baking dish. Add remaining oil to drippings. Saute onion, garlic and mushrooms until limp. Remove pan from heat and add flour, salt, pepper, wine, tomato paste and bay leaf. Blend in beef broth. Stir until ingredients are blended. Pour over meat. Cover and bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Remove casserole from oven. Gently stir in sour cream and serve over cooked wide noodles.
