To much baking soda?!


Question:

To much baking soda?

i accidently got the baking soda and baking powder mixed up.
what is to much baking soda going to do to my banana nut muffins?
it called for a 1/2 tsp and i put in 1 1/4 tsps.


Answers:
It will probably make the texture coarse and give the muffins a sour taste. Go ahead and bake them, but don't be surprised if you end up throwing the batch away and starting over.

And don't feel bad -- I've done the same thing, too.

I did that once to some chocolate cakes....I soon had chocolate volcanoes in the oven...they will probably risae very quickly and then begin to spill over...I would suggest putting a cooking sheet under them if you are going to try and bake them...It will help with the oven clean up! Good Luck

don't even waste your time baking them...
dump 'em and start over ;-)

They will be a bit tough and taste kinda pretzel-y. Dump it and start over, if you can. Nobody will like them and you're wasting time and energy on them.
