How do you cook bratwursts on a grill?
Answers:
BEST GRILLED BRATWURST
Bratwurst
1 can beer
1 1/2 c. water
1 c. ketchup
Grill bratwurst over medium heat, turning occasionally, for about 20 minutes. Combine beer, water and ketchup in large saucepan. Simmer the grilled brats in beer mixture for 15 to 30 minutes
Make a few slashes with a knife over them and cook as slowly as you can over the grill and make sure they are completely cooked before serving.

Pierce them a few times with a fork so that the grease will drain off and the skins won't explode. (Be sure to have a squirt bottle nearby to put out flareups, which you will definitely have.)
I cook them over low heat, turning them often and basting them with a little beer to keep them from drying out. During the last five minutes of cooking, I brush them with barbecue sauce, turning once after applying the sauce. Be careful because it's easy to have flareups or to burn the sugar in the sauce.
I use Sweet Baby Ray's brand sauce, which is the best! While I'm grilling the brats, I usually cook a few slices of onion wrapped in foil, too. It's hard to beat the combination of grilled onion and barbecued brats!
boil them on the stove first, about 10 minutes until they are fully cooked. then put them on the grill, to give them the brown smokiness and the crisp outside
I use those throw-away aluminum pans, put one on the grill, put in some beer, onion slices, crushed garlic cloves and brats. Simmer on a medium-hot grill for about 30 minutes or so, rolling them around occasionally. Take brats out of beer and place on grill...grill for 15 minutes, turning them once. Done! man are these good this way!
Esmerelda is right on ,,,,,,,,,,, the simmer in beer is the secret !!
Deli-sh !!
First of all brats are generally cooked when you buy them. You put them on a grill to heat them and put some lines on them. Don't have the grill to hot. You want to be sure they are warmed through but not quickly charred. They often split when heated on a grill. That is okay. They are great served hot off the grill. I lived in Germany for two years and often bought brats from street vendors grilling them. They were served with hot (spicy) mustard or sauerkraut and a piece of bread to hold the brat and dip in the mustard.
I like to slit mine and grill til crunchy...Thanks for 2.
Simmer in beer and water, also add a cut up onion and a glove of garlic. Boil for about 10 minutes then put on the grill. It is important to be drinking cold beer throughout the process. When done use the onions and some grilled bell pepper. I like potato rolls with a little mustard. Oh, and a cold beer.
