More water is my first suggestion, unless you want to add even more potato. They could be taken out and mash, and used to make fishcakes or croquettes.

A couple of whole peeled potatoes. Cook them in the soup for about 20 minutes then TAKE THEM OUT. They absorb the salt. If it's way too salty, there really isn't much you can do, but if it's just oversalted, that should do the trick.

I have this same problem with my ham soup. I haven't tried this yes, but next time I won't add any extra salt at all and use low sodium broth. I hope that this helps!

i know. berry juice. its weird but it works!!!

If the recipe calls for salt you can omit it or add less, another trick is if you are using a bullion based broth to not use as much bullion as called for because they are very salty as well.

Diced potato's will help and when buying the ham, get low salt ham or one that is not smoked. Rinse ham before dicing to get all additives off. DO not use any ham stock/bullion and don't add any salt to the soup. This should help.

try adding grated carrot, or a little sugar.

a tablespoon of sugar & a teaspoon of instant coffee.

well since it already has potatoes, how about more water?

Prep. the ham for making soup by Parboiling the Ham in water for about 45 min. to get some of the salt out.

Once you have done that just dump the water out and make your soup as usual.

if you already made the soup and it is too salty, then take a little bit of ginger ale(soda) and add it to the soup.

add some lemon or lime or vinegar or whole potatos n fetch em out later

Take a whole potato & place in pot, then simmer for another 20 - 30 minutes. Even though you have potatoes in your soup, the fresh peeled one will pull the salt out of the broth. If this doesn't work, then add a tablespoon of sugar.......

sugar.....that potato crap does not work and I don't know why people keep giving that advice.

Add a little water and a sugar

add more water i guess
