How do you make good BBQ Ribs without all the fat?
I am mlimited to stores here that sell ribs, and ones who do sells Tender choice where theres a lot of fat on them. What Kind of ribs do I get and sauce that is not overpowering? I don't like Loyyd's Ribs, the sauce is too much, but the ribs are meaty. I don't like anything spicy either.
Answers:
Use baby back ribs. They are leaner than regular ribs. And boil them first to render out the fat. About 20 minutes will work. Drain the fat off, pat the ribs dry, and put on the BBQ. Warm the BBQ sauce up separately in a pan. Put the warm sauce on the ribs when you eat.
Reason? BBQ sauce has sugar in it, and sugar burns over an open fire.
Trim the fat before preparing the ribs. It's that simple.
get your self some ribs cut the fat off them......mix some brown sugar honey and a jar of BBQ sauce.mix all together boil ribs first then when done ...but on glaze and bake in oven at 350 for 60 min..turning and glazing them ....or put on grill and cook them that way it not real spicy but taste great....make sure ribs are done before eating adjust time if necessary
When I make BBQ ribs, i do tryto get the leanest type of ribs, which are the baby back ribs, and then i try to trim off as much of the fat as possible. Then after that, i put the ribs into a pot of water and boil them until they are part way cooked and remove them from the water. Also, i try to add a bit of honey to them as i roast them on the toaster oven, and then apply the bbq sauce on afterwards. I don't add any extra oil to the sauce because then it'll be a bit oily and fatty.
Cut the ribs into serving sized pieces 5-6 ribs per portion then boil them first for about 1/2 hour in a large pot of salted water. This will tenderize them and shorten the cooking time on the BBQ, and the fat will remain in the water. The best rib cuts are the back ribs -more meaty.
After boiling then BBQ the ribs with your favorite BBQ basting sauce and they should be done in about 1/2 hour.
Boil them first
It also makes them very tender and moist.
Trim the fat first, but don't trim it all away otherwise your ribs will be dry. Fat is what gives food moisture and flavor.
