OValtine = coco powder?

Can I use ovaltine in the place of sweetened coco powder ina recipie? If not, what can I use? Thanks!

no, Ovaltine is not the same. your results will not be good. you can only use cocoa powder, it's pure chocolate in powdered form. Ovaltine has many other ingredients. In some recipes you could probably substitute baker's chocolate, but would have to adjust wet ingredients and fat content.

No--you need to stick with the sweetened cocoa powder. Sorry.

coco powder are basically or more percetage in coco rather then ovaltine but i guess there is no harm in using ovaltine if you like the taste though the end result might differ.

I think that Ovaltine has malt in it... very different from cocoa powder. You can use melted dark chocolate in place of cocoa powder.

Personally, I would never drink Ovaltine, let alone cook with it! Stick to the cocoa powder, please!
