What's the best way to cook an egg...?!

Question:

What's the best way to cook an egg...?

...in terms of taste, enjoyment and health?

Admittedly the first two are subjective.

preferred mine boiled.

slowly poach them in warm/hot water for ten minutes

I've always been partial to hard-boiled eggs, which is probably the healthiest way to cook an egg. Place the egg in a pan of cold salted water (if it floats it's a bad egg, toss it out and try again) and slowly bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes (12 for extra-large eggs). Take the pan off the heat and now subject the egg to a cold-water shock -- make sure the egg is in very cold water for another 10-15 minutes (you will need to change the water a couple of times). Now the shell should slip off fine, there will be no gross green stuff around the yolk and the yolk will be perfectly cooked. It's aestheically pleasing sliced on bread, is good quartered in salads, can be diced and added to potato salad or egg salad ... Can't do that much with a fried or poached egg.

Boiled or scrambled or a dry fried egg with toast and tomato ketchup

crack the egg in a bowl and mix it with some hot sauce (just a few drops), add some salt and pepper, pour into a buttered pan and let cook while adding maybe some onion, green pepper and a little bit of cheese and then start scrambling it until it starts to brown (if you like how i like it)

It doesn't matter what kind you like- poached, scrambled or hard boiled as long as its cooked well. I prefer scrambled egg- a little bit of oil or butter in the pan, then add the egg and mix well until scrambled. You can add a pinch of salt and pepper for taste.

Boiled eggs seems to fill me up. I can eat a hard boiled egg for breakfast and be full most of the day.

Scrabbled eggs are ymm

I like them fried on a low heat, and put on buttered toast, but probably not so healthy as poached, or scrambled. Or thrown over some veg's or fried potatoes to make an omelet.

The best way (and what i like is) sunny side up. it is similar to poach you just add some pepper and onion while cooking and give time a minute more than normal it tastes even better when eaten with bread (slightly warm ) .Best part you can remove the yolk as it becomes dry if you are healthy savvy

i would have to say an omelet. Try whisking two eggs together. get a pan nice and hot but keep it on medium heat. pour the eggs in and let the bottom cook. during this time put in some of your favorite cheeses, peppers, onions, pretty much anything you like! then flip over one side onto the other and flip the whole egg. let each side brown up a little. enjoy!

fryin it
