I tried using wax paper instead of parchment paper once and it started to melt, and smoke. Try using aluminum foil instead, if you don't have time to get parchment paper.

Yes, you can use the wax paper.
If it's for baking, don't substitute wax paper. Wax paper is coated with paraffin and will smoke in the oven.
I just bake cookies on a cookie sheet. Parchment paper isn't really necessary.
yes you can the difference is that for waxed paper you will have to add more flour or butter or whatever substance you are putting on the paper
Don't use wax paper! I tried that same substitution years ago and it burned and almost caught on fire in the oven! Foil is your best bet if you don't have a non-stick pan anymore.
NO!!! Wax paper will smoke up the place and will melt into the cookies...not good eats! Spray your cookie sheet with PAM or some other non-stick product if you can't get out to buy parchment paper. Just between you and me, plain old grocery bags work well if cut open. Get rid of the bottom though, you don't want that nasty glue anywhere near your oven or food.
Don't use wax paper it will smoke and make your cookies taste bad. just use non-stick pan and keep a close eye on it.
NOO!
