Hi, do I need to wash pork chops that came pre-seasoned?
I always wash my poultry before I cook it. But, this time I bought pre-seasoned meat. I'm scared I will wash off the seasoning, then again, I don't want to get sick. Thanks.

the best thing to do is cook them thoroughly. that kills the bacteria better than washing
i think they already have washed the pork chops before they seasoned it so it should be clean don't worry! save me some pork chops!!!!!!!!
hmmm i probably wouldn't rinse them off because of the seasoning. the heat from cooking will probably burn off anything that shouldn't be there. : ]
no. then you would wash off all the seasoning. i saw on, i think 20/20(show on abc) that to get rid of meat that about to go bad, they season the hell out of it and re-sell it..no kidding.
Most places where they sell pre-seasoned pork chop have washed their pork-chop before they put seasoning on it. Also, you have to cook pork 100%, so you will kill all the bacteria anyway. So, if you bought it from a reputable store, you should not have to worry.
Enjoy your pork chops!
no do not wash it ...lol yes you will most likely have to re-season it..lol but to be safe cut a small portion and store it in your freezer after you cook it and if you get sick you will have scientific evidents to be tested for results of cause and if you do this correctly and get sick and go through the motions of what i just mention then SUE for big bucks good luck
No, you don't need to wash it. It should have been washed and treated sanitarily.
Just be sure to cook it to the proper temperature.
It would be a waste to wash it all off. I think cooking it kills germs
I never wash meat except the Thanksgiving turkey
just cook thoroughly
