Question:

Substitute for gin in cooking?

hello! i want to know what i can use as a substitute for gin in cooking? i downloaded a recipe online and i didn't notice that it included gin in the ingredients though it's only a very small amount. can i use rice wine instead? or any other common things in a common kitchen? help!!

Answers:
use a wine

Gin's got a pretty distinctive flavor . . . I'd just leave it out if you have nothing.

juniper berries and a little vodka or white wine simmer berries in
liquid on low heat, for about 10 min. strain and use
