Is brown sugar healthier than white sugar?
I′ve read different opnions on this topic....

We had a safety class regarding nutrition and diet at work. The instructor told us that brown sugar was healthier than white sugar. It had to do with the refining process and the nutrients. I can't say whether or not that is believable. But that is what we were told. There are web-sites devoted to nutrition which are reliable. Try a search. Personally I don't care about whether one or the other is healthier. I'll use them as I see fit regardless. Bacon sounds good about now.
Brown sugar is mostly white sugar. It has a negligible amount of whatever random plant compounds are in molasses, which includes eensy weensy amounts of some vitamins, but not enough to make it at all worth it. The only way it would be healthier is if the stronger flavor made you use less of it. (And unhealthier if the stronger flavor made you use more!)
I hear that brown sugar is supposed to be healthier, but not all people say that.
Really the biggest difference between the two is that brown sugar still contains some of the "molasses". It hasn't been quite as processed as white/granulated sugar. It may contain very small amount of minerals, such as iron, that would have been lost in the processing of granulated sugar.
If you have the choice, I would go with the brown, but it's not really too big of a difference.
i wouldnt say it is healthier, its jsut a different type of sugar. all sugar is bad for you and your teeth.
