Are skittles coasher, yes it has gelitan but is it pork geletain.?!

Question:

Are skittles coasher, yes it has gelitan but is it pork geletain.?

Answers:
If they are Kosher, they should have a symbol that identifies them as such. Remember that 'kosher' has as much to do with the way they are processed as what ingredients are used. I am attaching a Wikipedia article that may help clear up the subject. I hope this helps.

P.S. On more closely reading this article, I felt that this statement would be particularly helpful to you:
"It is not sufficient to read the list of ingredients on a product label in order to determine a food's kosher status, as many things are not included in this list, such as pan lubricants and release agents (which may be derived from lard), flavorings (even "natural flavorings" may be derived from non-kosher substances) and others. It can, however, identify obviously unkosher substances present in food."

geletain is made from more then pigs hooves...usualy as far as I know, it is horse hooves (which I know is not much better)...

I have heard that skittles contain pork gelatin as an ingredient, a girl I work for wont eat them b.c of that but truthfully I have never heard "experts" state anything. Maybe just browse the internet a little to check out the ingredients.

gelatin in made out of bones hide and unedible connecting tissue from cows not hooves
