How do I get my donut glaze to harden at room temp?!

Question:

How do I get my donut glaze to harden at room temp?

Hi all,
I've been experimenting with making my own donuts. So far so good, but I have a major problem with my choc glaze. I just cant seem to get it to harden. They become gluey and sticky. Anyone can tell me why? And how to retify the problem?

I tried putting them into the fridge, but they melt even faster after they're taken out.

Answers:
joy--- I realy no not understand if you are glazing the donuts on one side or glazing the whole donut.Thin Chocolate glaze could be pretty tricky to make. Here is a suggestion or two.If you are glazing one side
mix the glaze at room temperature and add two table spoons (measuring spoons)of crisco per cup of glaze mix well glaze donuts.--------- If you are glazing the whole donut mix the glaze hot 160*F to 180*F
Add a square of chocolate almond bark to each cup of glaze and make the glaze thin enough to run off donuts leaving a good coating.-------- use more powdered sugar or more hot water to adjust the thickness of the glaze. I hope I have been of some help
Good luck jim b
