Can I freeze rhubarb? do I need to blanche it first?!

Question:

Can I freeze rhubarb? do I need to blanche it first?

Answers:
All I did when I was given a large bag of it from someones allotment, was cut it into pieces put it into freezer containers, and into the freezer, I think I've still got a little left, and that was last year.
Think I will enjoy rhubarb and custard tonight.

It freezes just fine.

boring

Rhubarb is ready to freeze. We usually clean it and cut it up into small "cubes" to put it into freezer bags so it is prepped for use.

Also, freeze it is small bags to take out for a bag lunch or small snack.

:)

Its one of those foods that you'd think you cant freeze, like cheese lol. They both perfectly fine to freeze, and you dont need to do anything with it

I cut it up first after washing it. Then open freeze it on a tray of some sort for a couple of hours, then pour into plastic bags. This way you can take out as much or as little as you wish.

Nope, just wash it, chop it into pieces if you want, bag it (vacuum sealing is best) and toss into the freezer! Easiest veg out there.
