How long do i cook broccoli?
Answers:
Bring a pot of salted water to boil and blanch broccoli for 3-5 minutes. Drain, squeeze fresh lemon on top and serve.
drop in boiling water for about 5 minutes.
Fresh
about 15 minutes
you steam it until you can push a fork through the stem part
'till its tender as you want it.
until it's soft. It depends on how you are cooking it (broiling, boiling, baking, microwaving?)
for al dente, steam for 15 minutes, for how the rest of the world eats it, soggy, steam for 20 minutes. don't ever boil, that's just killing all the vitamens
well the best way is to steam it until it's fork tender.if you boil it,you lose most of the vitamins and nutrients in the water.
not long...like 5-7 minutes...if you cook it longer it will taste horrible and look really gross...you want to keep the green color....
The answer is Blanche. Just bring a little water to boil and drop the floweretes in for 2 mins. cover and boom good healthy not over cooked brocolli.
if water boiled, 3-5 minutes would still make it sorta crunchy and green in the same time. 7 minutes would start to make it soft and a bit yellow.
Stirfry: put a lil bit of oil in pan to heat up for 1 minute, then dice some garlic in, after about 30 seconds you drop all the brocolies inside (please cut it in smaller pieces) and stir fry for about 5 minutes. While stir frying, add some salt, chicken powder or soy sauce to boost up the taste. It'll be good :)
It really depends on what method you are using to cook it (i.e. boiling, steaming ect. ect.)- but I'd just watch it in whatever method you are using and it is done when it cuts easily with a fork. The only exception is if you are stir-frying, in which case everything should be out of the wok in 2- 3 minutes. Good luck. (p.s) add a tiny bit of lemon juice to the water if you are boiling to help keep it a vibrant green color)

I steam cook my broccoli until it's crispy not too mushy. (no more than 20 minutes) I would guess somewhere between 5-10 minutes.
Then I squeeze some fresh lemon juice on it.
well I like my broccoli with a firm crunch, not mushy
so the best ways to do it is:
- blanching in boiling water with some salt for 3-4 minutes
- microwave covered with saran wrap in a dish with salt & 1/4 cup of water for 1-2 minutes
*** if you are doing the broccoli as part of a dish you can simply added to your dish
*** also I like microwaving better and specially if I am going to sautee later on with some olive oil, red pepper flakes, garlic & slice onions
cook it until it gets tender because sometimes it takes different times
