Why doesn't my terryaki taste like at the chineese resturant?!

Question:

Why doesn't my terryaki taste like at the chineese resturant?

Ive marinated the finest beef in terryaki sauce for 2 days and flame broiled it and its close but not that sugary sweetness like resturants.. Help?

Answers:
They probably add honey or brown sugar or something like that to thier marinade not just the sauce

Try adding KARO syrup, its what alot of recipes call for.

you should try adding some more sugar when you marinate the beef, or use honey instead..oh by the way, you should try teriyaki in a japanese restaurant..enjoy!

If you're using bottled/powdered teri sauce add some sugar or honey to it. If you're making the sauce from scratch check the sodium content of the soy sauce that you're using...it may be too salty. There are 2 ways to lessen the saltiness...dilute the soy with some water or add a sweetner.

You are probably making a great more authentic Terryaki, it is Japanese. Chinese food is sweeter, like sweet and sour.
