INGREDIENTS

1 (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 tablespoon orange zest

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a microwave-safe dish, melt the unsweetened chocolate, stirring frequently until smooth. Set aside.
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Divide dough in two. Mix orange zest into one half, and melted chocolate into the other half. Use a bit of each mixture to form a ball about 1 inch in diameter.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until center is set. Cool on wire racks.

You have to have a caterers license these days to sell any homemade foodstuffs.

Any recipe that you are familiar with should work if you follow it exactly.

I've had some pretty nasty sweets from bake sales from people who substitute ingredients in recipes or who weren't very clean when they made their baked items. So if you use the proper ingredients, and keep a clean kitchen, you should be fine.

Also, some people have a tendency to undercook, or underbake which is not good. Cookies, cakes, and pies all should show a little bit of browning around the edges. Not only does this make them taste better, it's an assurance that they were baked long enough.

Rocky Road always sells well and it's easy to make - no cooking. Melt 200g plain chocolate, 200g condensed milk and 25g butter in the microwave for 2 mins stirring frequently then beat 'til smooth. Add 40z chopped brazil nuts, 75g raisins and 200g mini marshmallows. Spread the mixture onto a lined baking sheed. Melt and drizzle some melted white chololate over the top - it will look spectacular. Don't advertise the calorie count!

any recipes form mums/grannies from when you were little and you know you loved! your own experiences and tastes are the best judge of what's great!
