Probably not. Most confectioners sugar actually contains cornstarch. This will throw off your recipe.

NO!! It will not turn out right.

Confectioner's sugar is just regular sugar ground superfine. Sometimes cornstarch is added to keep it from sticking In baking substitute 1 3/4 cup packed powdered sugar for each cup of granulated sugar called for in recipe. This substitution tends to make cookies less crispy. Good Luck

Yes; however, it'll produce a more subtle sweetness to the cake. May I suggest you add the zest from a couple of oranges; as well as, the squeezed juice. Commercial powdered sugar also contains corn starch to keep it from clumping up. So the juice (or a little extra milk, if you don't want to use the juice) offsets the starch. I recommend the juice in pound cake, gives it a zip.

No I wouldn't substitute it. Pound cakes usually don't have any leaveners in them and the only leaveners are the creamed sugar and eggs. Powdered sugar won't cream into butter and eggs like regular granulated sugar does.
