Meatballs, to fry or oven bake, that is the question?!

Question:

Meatballs, to fry or oven bake, that is the question?

just as it says above.
i want to know what is better, to fry or to bake?
why is it that 50% of people do it one way, and 50% the other, seriously, look up recipes

Answers:
I brown mine in a fry pan then bake them to get them done....they need the color. just brown in a fry pan then put in a baking dish at 350 for about 15 mins.

I oven bake mine just because its easier and less messy than standing over a skillet for 20 minutes flipping and turning meatballs. I place my raw meatballs on a broiler pan in the oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes and they come out done perfectly every time and I don't have to clean up grease splatters all over the counter and stove.

Some people fry them first then bake them with all the sauces on top. The best thing is to get a pack of frozen ones then cook them in the microwave.

I fry

i did a yahoo search right quick for you, the first link has LOTS of meatball recipe's for you to look over and see which catches your fancy. *smiles ** here is just one of them at that link >>

I love to bake them in a really hot oven b/c I don't have to stand there babysitting them in a skillet, watching grease pop all over my used-to-be-clean stove. I also find frying makes them into werid little shapes w/ sides on them. Bakign doesn't do that.

if you bake them, you'll probably get a healthier option but they may get to tough. Another low-cal option would be to cook them directly onto a small pot of tomato sauce, made with onion sliced thinly which you need to soften in a tablespoon of oil, and a can of peeled tomatoes. Let the sauce simmer for 5-10 mins, then add the meatballs, leave them for another 5 minutes, stir them gently, cover with a lid and turn the heat off.
