Can I make a betty crocker cake with strawberries?!

Question:

Can I make a betty crocker cake with strawberries?

When I'm mixing in the baste at the beginning, before I pop it in the oven, can I mix in strawberries so they all cook at once?
Or any other suggestions? It's for my sister's birthday cake :)))

Answers:
I dont see why not , but to make it look prettierget cool whip or icing whatever you are using on top. Cut the cake in half put a thin layer of whatever topping. Cut strawberry slices and put in the middle. Then put the second half of the cake on top and do the same thing. Or for the top just take the leaves of the strawberries and stick them on top of the topping with the pointy end of the strawberries facing up......ooooo that sounds yummy....good luck and happy birthday to your sister-she'll love it!!~_~

As a former chef, I would recommend if you use fresh strawberrys it is fine, but frozen one should you use them leave out 1 teaspoon of liquid, so it does not change the structure of the cake.

Even a bit of chopped or pureed fruit in a nice icing, homemade or a can of premade frosting.

Strawberry Cake

1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup mashed strawberries
.
Strawberry Icing
1/2 cup butter
1 pound confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup mashed strawberries

PREPARATION:
Combine cake mix and gelatin powder in a large bowl. Beat in oil, eggs, water, and strawberries. Pour into 2 9-inch round greased and floured cake pans. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Strawberry Cake
Cool and frost with strawberry icing.
For icing, beat the butter and confectioners' sugar together until smooth. Add strawberries. Spread between cake layers, then frost top and sides.

Get the Betty Crocker Bake N Fill Deluxe. You can fill a cake with fruit or any thing. It worked for me. It is only $17.95 on Amazon.
