What type of cake would make the best MINI CAKES?!?!

Question:

What type of cake would make the best MINI CAKES?!?

I'm thinking carrot cake, but I'm not sure. I want to do a 3-tier mini cake (well, lots of 'em), so it should be something that's synonymous with a type of custard/filling/frosting.... just like how carrot cake goes so well with cream cheese frosting. Do you have any suggestions, aside from the carrot cake, of course? THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about something like lemon with and decorated with a little fruit. Very summery! Good luck with all your baking!

I did a lot of mini chocolate cakes once for a pitch in at work. I then decorated each one with frosting, glaze, fruit and Cool Whip.

Im thinking strawberry custard/chocolate filling/blueberry frosting.

i vote cheesecake with different toppings.who can refuse cheesecake

it may sound weird but it is delicious

make a cream cheese cake with whip cream
and make the crust from hard pretzels and cinnamin
i gave it to a friend at a dinner party
... i felt sorry for the girl who bought the pound cake

If you are using a box mix... there is a new red velvet cake (I think duncan hines)...
I made a bunch of small cakes to sell at the nursing home where I work...
red velvet cake, rasberry jam in between, and chocolate ganache for the frosting....
ganache is nothing more than taking a 1/2 cup of heavy cream... bring to a light simmer...take from heat and stir in 4 ounces of chips (chocolate, white choc, butterscotch).... let cool to spreading consitency.......excellent as frosting
