What is chicken soup base?!

Question:

What is chicken soup base?

I am a vegetarian...and wondering that if chicken soup base has any animal fat in it or any chicken ingredients.I bought it from a grocery store...and it is powder like.

Answers:
Being a former chef, I can say this, it varies, some are powder and have no real meat in them, some have chicken fat in them , they are the cubes and some are in paste form.

I buy mine at a bulk food store here in Canada, I get the one without MSG, but there are versions that have no animal products at all, but I would stick to the can or cartons or vegetable stock from the grocery store.

It is just as flavourful as chicken broth, and is not as calorie laden, I used it quite often.

Yes, its normally made with chicken and corn starch - check the ingredient label to be sure

yes , feck it out.

Your basic chicken soup base is made by boiling chicken pieces with seasonings and is dehydrated to create a powder. You may like to visit the source listed below for alternative seasoning options.

Most soup bases have animall proteins in them, with the exception of vegetable soup base. Soup bases come in poweders, cubes, and pastes but are pretty much the same product...dehydrated soup stock.
