How to cook fresh trout?!

Question:

How to cook fresh trout?

it's already on the grill, wrapped in foil on low. How long does it need to cook?

Answers:
I would agree with Hannah. For a fun new way to cook fish, try using the dishwasher. Great for entertaining, as it always leads to discussion. Stuff your fish (lemon, onion, butter... whatever you want to use) then wrap it securely in aluminum foil. Make sure it is well wrapped so no water gets in. Place the fish on the top rack of the dishwasher and run a cycle. (NO SOAP!!!) Remove, unwrap, and serve. Enjoy!

Normally it cooks for about ten minutes total, or until the eye turns white (if you left the head on).

check the fish when it flakes easily with a fork it is done. Don't overcook or it will get dry

With a medium to medium high heat and wrapped in foil I'd say a trout weighing in at maybe a quarter to a half a pound will only take about 15 min.. But what I would recommend is to take a fork a start checking the fish after about 10 min. Just lightly lift up gently right above the back bone to see if it flakes easily. If it does then you know its done.
