Making cookies with margerine...?!

Question:

Making cookies with margerine...?

um...for chemisty we had to change a variable in a recipe for chocolate chip cookies and i had to switch butter for margarine. i changed nothing else. will there be significant changes in taste, texturem, color?

Answers:
margrine will change the taste of colour and nothing else ...ur cookies will have a littlt salty taste....

I think you're supposed to do this experiment. But when I use butter I notice a creamier cookie. That's it. Maybe slightly lighter in colour.

Actually, no. I usually bake cookies with margarine instead of butter and they turn out just as delicious.

Butter makes it better. Period

Butter will make the cookies crispier and have a richer flavor.

margarine is used as a substitute to butter and is very similar to it (i.e. taste, color, texture) so there wont be any significant changes. however the reason why margarine is unhealthy is because it has trans-fats which are cancerous. try changing the variable such as using more/less flour, using more eggs.

no differance

I've used margarine in cookies and it actully tastes better it's also easier to mix!

yes to all. Using unsalted butter instead of margerine is the only way to go. I used to use margerine but after trying them only once with butter, I will never do without butter for cookies again.
