How do you make a baked potato in the microwave?!

Question:

How do you make a baked potato in the microwave?

It is to hot to turn on the oven. Thanks for any advice.

Answers:
Follow instructions similar to everyone else's answers only place in a toaster oven or very hot oven, or even broiler for just a minute. This makes the skin more like real baked potatoes.

Side note: If you wet the potato and rub with sea salt, it really make the potato taste especially good.

I poke holes in it and cook it for about 6 minutes. Depends on your microwave though. check it.

Scrub it
Poke it with a fork a few times
Put it in the microwave for 5 min
Check it, depending on the size, it will take up to 10-20 mins

Poke some holes in it with a fork, and then put it in the microwave for like 3-4 minutes. Then poke it again.. if the fork goes in, and comes out easy, it should be done.

1. Wash and dry the potato.
2. Poke holes in the potato to vent steam.
3. Place the potato on a plate and put it into the microwave.
4. When using a 1200 Watt microwave, set the timer to 3:00 for a very small potato; set it to 4:30 for a medium-sized potato; and set it to 6:00 for a large potato. Huge potatoes require 7 to 8 minutes.
5. The microwave should stop before the potato is soft enough for eating and while it is still slightly firm deep inside.
6. LEAVE THE POTATO UNOPENED for five minutes. This allows the inside of the potato to finish cooking with the hot steam that is trapped inside. Letting the potato cook its final minutes with its own trapped steam (without the added microwaves) helps it to become fluffy inside without over-drying the outer portion.
7. After waiting for the passive cooking, you now have a baked potato ready to eat.
8. Other Method:
9. Wash the potato. Do not allow it to dry. It is rather good for the potato to be damp.
10. Poke holes in the potato.
11. Wrap the potato in two layers saran wrap.
12. Set the microwave for seven minutes.

Poke holes in the potato with a fork and wrap the potato in wet paper towel. Put it in the microwave for about 35 seconds. If it needs to be in longer add another 15 seconds. I hope I helped.

Poke some holes in the potatoes and press the potato button if you have one if not it takes like 10mins for me to cook one but depending on the voltage of your microwave.

We wash them really good and cut the ends of, stab it a few times with a fork and pop them in...Depends on your microwave how long it takes...

Yes, 3 to 4 minutes is long enough, unless its a GIANT potato. Don't make the mistake I did and press the wrong button and cook a single potato for 17 minutes, you will not be able to eat it, and you'll have to get a new microwave too.

wash it then put holes in it with a fork and put in microwave for two minutes test it if it feels soft if not stick in for another two minutes .

pierce the skin with a fork or a knofe ( if you don't it will EXPLODE!!!) 3 to 6 minutes on high depending on the size of the spud. Check it after three, if it's still a bit hard inside, throw it back for a few more minutes until it is done.

Heck thats my favorite snack.First i wash it then I usually put a knife threw it first to ensure it don't build pressure and explode.I cook it for about 3 minutes ,flip it over and cook it three more minutes (that time varies depending on size of potato but thats about the average).if its a really big potato sometimes i go 3 and 4,but for average size all purpose potatoes 3 and 3 should be plenty. When it first comes out it can still be a little firm so let it sit for about a minute so the heat has time to soften it up even more. Then put your butter, salt and pepper, and mmm thats a good easy snack ;).

1). wash the potatoe
2). u can either poke holes in it or slice it down the front and across the middle( second one inside cooks better).
3). get some butter and rub it all over the potatoe
4).wrap it in some saran wrap
5).put in microwave
6). put it on high for 5mins( checking it once or twice for softness).
7). remove from microwave
8). remove saran wrap
9). seasonings/condiments
10). enjoy

Poke it all around with a fork and go for approx 10 mins...check to see if fork tender, if not...run it longer!

depending on size: wash it,scrub it,go around the potato and stab holes in it all around..lots of holes...then push the potato button or just try cooking 3 minutes then check the potato...turn it and try 1 to 2 minutes again . Too many minutes and you not watching it, will over cook it and you will not be able to eat it. Turns hard.

Put a few fork holes in it, then microwave about 6 mins. Then place into an oven for a few minutes until the skin is slightly crusty ( like the ones from restaurants)
