Have you ever eaten shark steak?!
Have you ever eaten shark steak?
Was it good? What is a good side-dish with shark?
Answers:
I've had it on many occasions and many other people have too. The fish sticks you were served in school were more likely than not shark meat.
My favorie way to cook it is as shish ke babs. Cut the shark in 3/4 inch cubes and marinate in a mixture of pineapple juice and soy sauce. Marinade for 15-30 minutes. You can go up to an hour for a stronger marinade flavor.
Thread the shark cubes onto a skewer alternating shark, onion mushroom bell pepper and shark. Marinate with the pineapple juice and soy sauce until done. To me shark has nearly a beef flavor with ocean overtones. The texture is definitely like beef.
For a side dish I'd suggest a nice fried rice. Another quick and easy dish.
How is it?
im sure that it would probally taste like fish :)
would be interesting to try
Yes it is very good..and dilled new potatoes are an excellent side dish.
Yep. Taste like chicken...of the sea.
Seriously, its like any firm fish filet.
Its not as tender as salmon.
But its good.
Serve it with anything you would normally serve with a nice filet.
I had seared Macao shark, its good with a fresh arugula (any greens you like) salad, and garlic roasted or grilled baby red potato's!!
Shark steak is good for people who like to eat meat, seriously. It's good with garlic potatoes and chard or on a bed of spinach salad with a strong vinagrette. I don't care for it, because I like flaky fish.
Yes. It is not all that unique from other fish dishes, but it wasn't bad or anything. A good side dish? I'd say red-skinned potatoes with butter.
when I was in Australia the fish of the fish and chips was flake which was shark. Very good.
I am a vegetarian, and a shark rights activist,so I find this question offensive and appalling.
PEACE
no and i probably never will
Yes, when I was in the U.S. Navy, back in the '70s, I was stationed at North West Cape, Australia. Used to have shark with Galliano liqueur. Marinate steak for 30 minutes, then wrap in foil with a little of the liqueur and toss on the barbie. I wasn't overly fond of it, but then I wasn't overly fond of Galliano. We had the usual bbq accompaniments; pasta salads, potato salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, pickles, olives, cheeses, fresh fruit, garlic toast, etc. And beer. Lots of beer. Good beer. Australian beer, not the American p*ss.
Yes. Awfully salty.
A good side dish would be a Coke.
In many countries if you go in and ask for fish 'n chips without stating the fish you want it will probably be shark, but called by a fancy name.
So the answer is Chips.
No, and I don't intent to, thank you.
