Answers:
no not at all... and you don't need to go and spend alot of money on a rice cooker or those stupid bamboo rollers either! all you need is the sushi nori seaweed sheets and the sushi rice (i think it may be called jasmine rice) enquire about these at an asian store.

1) cook the rice and whilst its cookin prepare fillings
2) place the rice on the seaweed sheet leaving about 3-5cm gap on one of the end of the one of th side vertical... so when you roll it up there wont be rice fallin out the end.
3) then place a vertical strip of crab and avocado in the centre area of the rice (which should already be on the seaweed sheet)
4) roll it up (you don't need to tuck any sides in or anything) and enjoy!!!

ps. sushi is the BEST!!! YUM!!!

buy a rice cooker at kohls for like $30. It gets the rice perfect and then you just need to go to an oriental store and buy a sushi roller. Then the seaweed. Just stick the rice to one side of the seaweed, flip it over on the roller and put the crab and avacado inside. Then roll it with the roller and cut it with a wet knife.

The rice is over cooked a little too make it starchier so it sticks together
Remember not to over cook the fish HA HA

He uses 'sticky rice' ... and yes, you can go to any grocery store and find that right on the label ... it's ususally in the 'Asian' section of the supermarket, and not with the other 'rice' ...
You'll also need a 'bamboo roller' (like a place-mat, with the bamboo tied together with strings), and if you want to make 'perfect' sushi you'll also need to get some 'seaweed' (dried) because that will 'keep the rice from sticking' to the roller when you are first learning ... after you have the 'knack' you don't need to add the seaweed ... but seaweed is really tasty and it's also very good for you ... and also try getting some FRESH SALMON (NOT FROZEN) and adding that to the avocado, with some 'cucumber slices' ... YUM!

No, actually it is easy.

There are a lot of books on how to make sushi. You need to read that.

A lot of ingredients are needed for sushi. The first and foremost is rice, which has to be Japanese sushi rice. You can buy them at your local Asian/Chinese/Japanese stores. You should cook them in rice cookers, which are designed for rice cooking. Don't undercook or overcook rice, and they will stick together easily.

You will also need stuff like sushi vinegar, wasabi, sasami, soy sauce, as well as a variety of fish/crab/vegetables for your sushi. Imitation crab can be purchased at any grocery store at the seafood department. Fresh fish, on the other hand, usually are available only in Chinese or Japanese grocers. They have to be freshly prepared then frozen then shipped to your grocery stores. Not any old tuna or salmon will do - they will make you sick.

You can also get a sushi kit with plates and chopsticks at many large grocery stores, Asian stores, or restaurant/kitchen supply company.

rice cooker. lay the sushi on this thing made out of bamboo or wood then put rice and some stuff inside the roll it up slowly dont let the topping fall out :)

it's only hard if you don't know how to make but if you learn how to make sushi then it would be definitely hard to make.

it's easy here's the recipe:-

SUSHI

Thin strips of seasoned sea weed
Mirin - Japanese bottled seasoning
Soy sauce
Wasabi - Japanese horseradish
Rice, my family likes this with brown rice
Avocado, cucumbers, red or green peppers, chives or scallions
Raw fish - if you like tuna is good

Japanese seasonings are easily available in Ethnic Section of supermarket.
Make rice. Bring hot to table. Sprinkle with 1/4 to 1/2 cup Mirin, toss. Keep covered. Have on table small bowls of chopped chives, avocado, raw tuna, slivers of cucumber, red and green peppers and whatever else strikes your fancy. Each person should have a small bowl for soy sauce and, if you wish, wasabi- Japanese horseradish to dip and a pile of seaweed wrappers.

Take seaweed wrapper in hand, cover with layer of rice. Add vegetables or fish in center. Roll up - dip in sauce - eat. Especially good with Sake
