OK, so should I leave them whole or slice them so they can be eaten easily?

I think it sounds nice. If your strawberries aren't sweet enough, try soaking them in a lime syrup. The recipe for that is equal parts sugar and water boiled down with about a quarter lime juice and the zest of 2 or 3 limes. cool the syrup down before adding the fruit. leave them in the syrup for about 10 or 20 mins than drain the excess. Keep the syrup for cocktails or for making another dessert.

mmmm....sounds good to me

Strawberries are fine as a garnish. Any fruit would actually work fine. It would give it a tropical taste. You could even mix a few pieces of different fruits and pile them in the center of the pie for a colorful touch. Just remember to marinade them a little in lemon juice and sugar to prevent them from turning brown.

I dont like coconut cake but a few pieces of fruit wont hurt it or anybody else!

It sounds good, don't ever be afraid to try something different with a recipe, you will be surprised at how often you create a masterpiece

Sure! Go for it!

Assume . . .

I think it sounds awesome!! Pineapple would work too. Pina colada feel.

As for whether to slice or not, why not make strawberry "fans"? at the pointed (as opposed to stem) end, make a few vertical slices about 2/3 towards the stem; then gently fan them apart.

Slice and put them in a ring on top.Or make it fan out like a flower.A large one in center....

NOOOOOOOOO strawberries..Plzzzzzzz!!!!!!!...
