Good recipes for the whole family? About 15 people.?!

Question:

Good recipes for the whole family? About 15 people.?

I need to make dinner for about 15 (all family) this summer. I'm a teenager so nothing extravagent or very hard to make. I love to cook though. It doesn't have to be very kid friendly because they'll eat anything. Recipes?

Answers:
Lasagna, salad and garlic bread. You can do up the lasagna in the morning and just put it in the oven about 1.5 hrs before the meal. Put the garlic bread in the last 20 minutes. And while that is warming.Take out the salad that you already prepared and set your table.TaDa!

When trying to feed 15 people at once I would go for something like lasagne (which you can make a couple big pans of pretty easily) Spaghetti, or burgers ( their are lots of fun recipes and you can grill out) and then pair a salad with the main dish and you have created a great meal!

The last thing you want to do when cooking for 15 is cooking something that has a lot of ingredients or specialty ingredients. Keep is simple

My personal favorite is shish-kebabs. It's pretty easy and certainly delicious. Here's what you will need:

-shish kebab skewers (you can get cheap wood ones at the grocery)
- various types of meat (chicken, steak and shrimp work best)
- an assorment of veggies (I usually use green and yellow squash, green peppers, onions, mushroom, cherry tomatoes, etc)
-Basmati rice

-Soak the kebab skewers in water so they don't burn.
-Marinate the meats in something simple like italian dressing and sprinkle balsamic vinegarette over the veggies
-Cut the meat and veggies into decent sized chunks (big enough to stay on the skewer but small enough to cook well)
-Stuff skewers full of meat (but allow small spaces between pieces, and seperate each skewer by meat type cause they cook at different speeds)
- Stuff other skewers full of veggies, but mix them up so the flavors seep into each other.
- Put the skewers on the grill until done, then mix the meats and veggies together
- Serve over the basmati rice.

It sounds like a lot of steps, but really it's just a lot of cutting and is guaranteed to be good!

I am not a good cook but when I would cook for my family...I would make lasagnha. I had 9 people in my family, so I would make 2 large lasagnas with a side of veggies (like a big pan of green beans or a cesar salad).
For 15 people you'd probably need 3 lasagnas. Make a large salad so people have a side dish. Also serve some rolls so people can dip it in the salad. You can buy those Pillsbury rolls which you pop the can and bake them for 20 minutes and voila...they are really yummy and easy to make.

Good luck!

We fed a family of 5 on this... so you will have to triple the recipe!

soup is generally not something considered in the summer so much... however... i love this soup year round... it makes a huge pot... and is very very easy.

1 lb ground beef or turkey
1 onion diced
1 pkg taco seasoning

1 pkg dry ranch dressing
All of the following, undrained:
1 4oz can green chillies
2 cans rotel
2 cans kidney beans
2 can pinto beans
2 cans corn
2 cans chopped, stewed tomatoes

saute the meat with the onion and drain. prepare with taco seasoning according to directions. move to a large pot and add the remaining ingredients. bring to a boil then simmer for 45 minutes. serve with shredded cheese and tortilla chips. better after has mellowed - second day is the best!
