What's the best way to store green onion?!

Question:

What's the best way to store green onion?

I have heard to trim off the top a bit and put in a glass of water in the fridge. Is this correct? What's the best way to keep it fresh and prevent premature wilting?

Answers:
Stand them root side down in a tall glass will help them to stay more "alert", but they are generally not the best thing to keep for too long. They are best in the fridge.

I've only heard of what you already know. Water is great for most veggies...lettuce, carrots(if they've lost their crisp)...all sorts of stuff.

yes chopped them up and freeze them in a ziplock bag, pressing the air out. They will freeze ok for cooking, but not for salads if you want them crisp but then green onions aren't very crisp anyhow.

Try to prepare and eat them fresh. If you want, you can freeze them in a ziplock bag. They are great for sauces. Just add some whole and let it boil and then remove.
