If you thaw frozen chicken how long and what temp do you cook it?!

Question:

If you thaw frozen chicken how long and what temp do you cook it?

Answers:
It depends on whether you've got a whole chicken or cut-up pieces.

We eat a lot of chicken breasts, boneless/skinless. A tightly-packed shrinkwrapped package of them thaws on the countertop in six or seven hours, although I check them frequently after four or five.

You can hurry them up by opening the package once they're partly thawed and separating the pieces, exposing them to room temperature on all sides. (I cover them with plastic wrap when I do this.)

After trimming thawed chicken breasts, bake at 400 for about 20 minutes or broil or grill 3 inches from the heat source for about 12 minutes.

We do a whole chicken at 325 degrees for about 2 hours. Thermometer needs to reach 160 degrees in the thickest part.

Thaw overnight in bottom of fridge
temp depends on what your doing with it, usually 375 to 400, but length and degree really depend on recipe. If your paranoid like me about under cook meat, invest in a digital thermometer

Chicken Roast.
Roast in a preheated 180C (350F) for 25 minutes per lb, add 20minutes if it is stuffed.
If cooking covered or in an oven bag reduce time to 18 minutes per lb.
For a crisper skin increase temperature to 200C (400F) for the last 10-15 minutes.
Allow to rest in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.
