Kid-Friendly Bentos???!

Question:

Kid-Friendly Bentos???

I just "discovered" bentos and think they are *wonderful* for my kids who have food allergies and need a creative way of eating healthy food.

The problem is that I am having trouble finding non-asian recipes and ideas for the bentos boxes. I can't cook asian for the life of me and even if I could it would be nearly impossible to access a lot of the ingredients.

Can anyone direct me to a good website or blog on kid-friendly bentos?

Thanks!!!

My kids are allergic to soy, dairy, and glutens. I didn't think it was important to include because the food excludes so much. I usually just take a recipe and change it up or substitute to make it edible for my kids. If I can see pics of something I can create it...but I am not creative enough to come up with stuff on my own!

You don't say what your kids are allergic to so this won't be specific. But the only formula you need to follow is the 4:3:2:1: four parts rice, 3 parts meat, 2 parts veggie, 1 part dessert or pickled vegetable. Almost anything can be used to make a bento.

So you could do rice, sliced beef, green beans and a cookie.
You could probably substitute any grain or starch for the rice.

rachael ray did some on her show you should be
able to find what was in hers on foodnetwork.com
or rachaelray.com.my kids eat the ones they
have at yoshanoya and they love it it has
hot wings,rice,teryaki beef,fried shrimp,spring roll.
and flan cup.*added*
you can put them in the boxes and they well
pretty much eat any healthy foods beacause it
looks cute.laptoplunches.com has a bento box
you can carry anywhere with carry case
,utensils,tip guide.
