Question:

What is that sauce that chineese restaurants useon the chicken and broccoli?

Anyone got an exact name?

Answers:
oyster sauce

No name, but it is part hoisin, part fish sauce, part water, and some cornstarch to thicken.

It is brown sauce. I am not sure how they make it, I just know it is good and I ask for it with any dish I order as they should fix it like you want it.

The sauce is a combination of soy sauce (about 3TBSP), sugar (about 1 tsp or to your liking), garlic powder (1 tsp)and sometimes ginger (just a dash of powder). Add some corn starch to thicken (A TBSP or two). Oh and of course water (About 3/4 to 1 cup). This is all done to taste. Some like their sauce sweeter and some more salty ect.

they just call it brown sauce.

Its called brown sauce, I make it all the time at home, for dipping broccoli.

Oyster sauce...

but you can make life easier buy looking for Lee Kum Kee vegetables mix.

They have prepared sauce mixtures for veegtables, chicken, pork, beef dishes...

Just invest in a good wok, rice wine, and sesame oil

Don't you know....the answer is....Ancient Chinese Secret. hehehehe... It's called brown sauce and there are probably as many different recipes for it as there are different veggies that are used in the dishes.
