I am looking for some good recipes to go with....?!

Question:

I am looking for some good recipes to go with....?

I have a great shrimp caesar salad recipe that I would like to use for an appetizer. I am not real sure what kind of meal I would like to put together with it. I would like something different, but not crazy, or even a twist on "mainstream resturant style" dishes.

thanks!

Answers:
You could continue with the seafood theme and make something like lobster. Or you could spice it up with chicken or even a juicy steak. If you want to make a dish similar to a restaurant and you have a specific dish in mind, check out http://copycat.cdkitchen.com/ .....there's recipes to replicate your favorite foods from restaurants.

make pecan chicken...go to www.recipezaar.com for the recipe.

what about turning it into a 'surf n' turf'? you could do a nice roast, or small steaks, or even a london broil. then add some potatoes/rice and a nice side of veggies.

i would make chicken alfredo pasta

Keep with the seafood theme and go with a Grilled Grouper (sea bass) fillet with lemon peper and capers, or try Salmon fillets that are marinated in lime juice, honey and dill and then put under the broiler so that the honey gives it a sweet crust. Pair it with some parsley and dill new potatoes.

Well I would make a toasted pine nut Cous COus as a bed and place sauteed chicken tenders with white wine and garlic surrounded by steamed vegetables topped with Basalmic vinagrette and a springkling of parmesan Reggiano.
With sliced french baquette

Pastas goes best with any caesar salads!

For sides I would do spinach artichoke dip with grilled baguette slices, cheesy pollenta, and a steamed fresh green bean topped with lemon slices (and juice). All of these things go really well with shrimp.
For the main dish I would go with nice steaks, seasoned with your favorite grill seasoning, grilled or broiled.
For dessert go with something hot. Like individual hot chocolate cakes topped with a cinnamon or other unique flavor ice cream!

Spinach Artichoke Dip (Serves 12)

4 cloves garlic
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1 (10 ounce) container Alfredo-style pasta sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Place garlic in a small baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven 20 to 30 minutes, until soft. Remove from heat. When cool enough to touch, squeeze softened garlic from skins.
3. In an 8x8 inch baking dish, spread the roasted garlic, spinach, artichoke hearts, Alfredo-style pasta sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and cream cheese.
4. Cover and bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until cheeses are melted and bubbly. Serve warm

Polenta (serves four)

4 cups vegetable broth (seasoned with 2 tsp dried rubbed sage, 1/8 tsp thyme, parsley and basil)
1 1/2 cup cornmeal (I prefer yellow)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup monterey jack
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/3 cup heavy cream

Preparation
Add broth to a heavy sauce pan, gradually add cornmeal, stirring constantly, on med heat. Cook until cornmeal becomes thick and pulls away from side of pan. About 10 min. Pour half of cornmeal into a 8x8 pan (ungreased). Mix the three cheeses in a seperate bowl and sprinkle half of cheeses over polenta. Pour rest of the remaining polenta on top of the cheese and top with remaining cheese. Drizzle heavy cream over entire polenta and bake in 350 oven for 30-35 minutes until cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. Let sit for about 5 minutes before serving.

I would serve a pasta and chicken dish and garlic bread. A nice fruity dessert would be good to end the meal.
