Does anyone have a good recipe for Green Tomato Chutney?

Answers:
Hi. Try this one out. Quite simple and works for me.
Ingredients
10g ginger root grated
4-5 green chillies
1 kg green tomatoes, chopped
2 tsp salt
200g brown sugar
250ml malt vinegar

Directions:

1. Grind the ginger with the chillies.

2. Place all the other ingredients in a deep pan on low heat.

3. Bring to the boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved, and simmer until the desired consistency is reached.

4. Remove from the pan when cool. Pour into warmed sterilised jars, cover and label. Store in a cool place or refrigerate in warm weather.

If you desire a slightly more sour taste then a pinch of citric acid can be added at step 3. It also acts as a preservative.

Hope you like it.
