How many cups makes 5 lbs of flour?!

Question:

How many cups makes 5 lbs of flour?

Answers:
If you mean All Purpose flour, about 22.5 cups in 5 lbs (4.5 cups per pound). See http://www.onlineconversion.com/forum/fo...

You actualy have to weigh it out. Flour has a tendenacy to trap air when not packed. You may get away with a cup or two, 5lbs leaves too much room for error.

According to the label on my 5 lb bag of flour, it contains about 75 servings of 1/4 cup each, which would make about 18 3/4 cups

Remember the saying " A pint's a pound the world around" well a little bit over two cups per pint. 4.5 cups per pound.

Just buy 5 lbs of flour. I actually think they come in five pound sacks.

There can be some significant variation depending upon how you measure and how tightly packed the flour is, but generally 5 pounds of flour will yield 17 or 18 cups of flour.
