Are chicken thighs good for currys?!

Question:

Are chicken thighs good for currys?

I happen to have some, just wondering.

Answers:
Thighs are about the best thing for currys. The bones add flavour and juice to the curry. There is not enough meat on legs or wings and breast will stay quite dry, no matter how long you cook it. I speak from a position of some experience as my wife is Indian, and we always use thighs...

They are the best, they are juicy, suck up all the flavours and that's what is used in authentic curries

YES they are Great.

;-)

Yes any meat on the bone is great for curry's or casseroles. In fact its recommended.

Yes, perfect

sure.........yummmm

Yes, do them nice and slowly, let the flavours blend as much as you can, then eat slowly so you savour every moment. ENJOY

I always use breast meat as it's leaner and nicer in texture. cannot stand slimy meat.

yes just cook them slowly

if the west love chicken breast, the east loves chicken wings and chicken thighs! because wings and thighs have bones, where the flavor of chicken is most concentrated. same reason why french chefs use bones to make their stocks and sauces. so, chicken thighs are great for curry! they have more flavor than chicken breast. you just need to simmer them longer.

dark meat is much better with curry than chichen breast

i would suggest tandoori for chicken thighs marinated for 24 hours in tandoori and yogurt oven baked in tinfoil......ummmm yummy

Actually, yes but when I use chicken thighs I remove the skin because it is fatty and cook my curry in a casserole dish for about one and a half hours to make sure it is thoroughly cooked.

Yeah they are fine!!

My mum buys the pack of chicken barbeque pieces with it all in and makes curry with the leg, thugh, breast, wing.

Its lovely!!

They work really well for curries.

Yes they are best, and I only like chicken breasts, but when I make curry I use thighs and drumsticks cause they take the curry better and fall apart, I can't get the breasts to take the curry the same way no matter how long I cook it. Just take the skin off.
