How to make french toast?!

Question:

How to make french toast?

Answers:
Start with good bread sliced at least an inch wide. Make your batter with equal parts egg and milk, add some vanilla extract and cinnamon. I don't like my french toast too mushy so I don't "soak" the bread but just dip it on both sides. Cook in a skillet with real butter til golden and crunchy. You may have to add more cinnamon as you go as you will see that it kind of stays on top of the batter. Happy cooking!

Bread + egg.

mix up some eggs in a bowl, dip sliced bread in the egg, both sides, and put in a pan over medium heat. cook until nice and brown, turning once to get both sides.

Hi !!!
Here is one of the recipes that I use...

Vanilla French Toast

Makes 4 (2-slice) servings.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 6 minutes per batch

2 eggs
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon McCormick? Pure Vanilla Extract
1/2 teaspoon McCormick? Ground Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
8 slices sandwich bread

1. Whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt in medium bowl. Stir in milk.
2. Melt just enough of the butter to lightly coat nonstick skillet or griddle on medium heat, reserving remaining butter for additional batches. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, 1 at a time, coating well. Drain excess.
3. Place bread in skillet; cook 3 minutes per side or until lightly browned. Repeat with remaining bread slices.

-----------AND HERE IS ANOTHER ONE...

Very Vanilla French Toast

4 servings 15 min 10 min prep

1 cup milk
1 (3 ounce) package vanilla pudding mix (NOT INSTANT)
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
8 slices thick bread
2 teaspoons butter or margarine
powdered sugar, if desired

Buttermilk Syrup:
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For syrup, melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add buttermilk, corn syrup, and sugar. Stir and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
Remove from heat; add vanilla and baking soda. Syrup will be foamy. Let stand for 5-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a shallow dish, whisk together milk, pudding mix, egg, and cinnamon for 2 minutes or until well blended.
Melt butter on hot griddle or in a skillet. Dip bread in mixture, coating both sides.
Cook over heat for 2-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Serve with syrup and powdered sugar or with fresh fruit and whipped cream.
Store leftover syrup in refrigerator.

melt a tbsp of butter or margarine in pan. beat egg(s) with a tbsp of milk in bowl. (add salt, pepper to taste). Dip bread into beaten eggs and milk. Make sure pan is on medium, and cook both sides of bread.

Mix up egg and a little milk or cream in a bowl as if you were going to make scrambled eggs.

Heat a skillet over medium to low heat, and melt a small amount of butter in it.

Put the bread in the bowl and get both sides "egged up" (leave each side for about a second, but don't over do it)

Place in the skillet and cook each side until the edges of the toast surface are brown.

Make scrambled eggs with the leftover egg & milk mix.
Heat your maple syrup in the microwave and enjoy!

How ever you make it just be sure to add cinnamon! It makes it tast soooo much better! Enjoy! That actually sounds good! I think I'll make that for breakfast tomorrow morning! Thanks!!!

INGREDIENTS

1 teaspoon butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
8 slices white bread
8 slices cheese

DIRECTIONS

Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. In a shallow bowl, beat together eggs and milk.
Dip bread slices one at a time in egg mixture, and fry in butter until golden. After turning once, top with a slice of cheese, and cover until cheese is melted.

Use 1/2 cup milk to every large egg , also use some cinnamon and nutmeg .Mix all togethr and dip bread into mixture.Fry in hot pan till golden on both sides.

You will need: sliced bread, eggs, milk (how much egg and milk depends on how many you are making...for 3-4 pieces, I use one egg and about a half a cup of milk), nutmeg (just a little tiny bit), cinnamon (just a pinch), powered sugar...
in a pan, melt butter (about a "pat" per piece of toast) and coat bottom of pan..make sure pan is already hot before cooking the toast
mix together spices and milk and egg...whip with fork or whisk until a little frothy...
Dip bread slices in mixture (do not dip and let sit..dip the bread just before you put it in the pan..otherwise it will be too soggy) and put in pan..brown on each side (only takes a minute or two)..
Sprinkle finished toast with powered sugar...serve with syrup on the side...
Banana's or berries make a nice accompaniment...

For 3-4 slices:

1 egg, a splash of milk, a little sugar, few drops of vanilla, mixed in a shallow bowl. Add bread one slice at a time, soak all the way through, and transfer to a hot skillet. You can melt a little butter in the pan first, if you want the toast to be nicley browned (and also help keep it from sticking). Flip once, to cook both sides. Serve with a pat of butter, warm syrup or jam, sauteed apples, or anything else that sounds good. Berries & whipped cream are popular at our house.

You can also find recipes online for baked french toast; these are great if you are cooking for a lot of people and don't want to spend your whole morning standing at the stove. Some of them can even be started the night before.

Enjoy!

whisk together eggs, milk and Cinnamon in a bowl. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, dip french bread in the mixture so it is thoroughly covered, then cook till golden brown on each side.

this might sound kind of gross but its way delicious. when i make it i mix eggs, cinnoman, and eggnog in a bowl, dip both sides of bread in and then FRY the the bread in just a little bit of oil in a skillet. you don't want alot of oil, it doesn't need smothered and DEEP fried. but just enough to fry each side. (also make sure your oil is hot before you start cooking the bread or else the oil will soak into ur bread and not cook it, it wont soak into ur bread though if its hot). place on paper towels. serve warm with peanut butter and syrup on it. okay, you don't HAVE to put pb on it, but its sooo delicious!

take your eggs, beat them, add cinnamon and a little sugar to the eggs, dip your Texas toast into the mixture to coat the bread, then place on a pre heated griddle, lightly sprayed with Pam, cook until it is golden brown and enjoy.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST french toast I ever had was with stale french bread. I know it doesn't sound good, but it was awesome. I think because the bread was a bit dry, it soaked up more of the egg and spices and when it was done, it wasn't mushy at all. It was just regular french bread sliced about an inch thick. You let it sit out uncovered for a day or two and then use it. Then, you find a good recipe using egg, a little bit of milk, and spices of your choice, and dip the bread in it and cook it on a warm non-stick skillet. Afterwards, you can sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar on it, and use syrup or anything else you want to it and enjoy!

In a dish- beat 2 eggs, a Tbsp. of milk, cinnamon (a pinch), and 1/2 tsp. (or smidge) of vanilla. Set aside.
Now get bread- you can use any that you choose but Texas Toast (the thick slices like restaurant bread) taste the best!...set aside.
Put about 1/4 c of veg. oil (cover the bottom) of a frying pan.
Heat this oil on med. when hot...
Dip slice of bread in batter mix and lay in pan- about 2-3 min. per side....pull out and butter, syrup and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Other suggestions of toppings from my kids...
whip cream and sprinkles, blueberries,raspberries,cherri... medley,pb&j, chocolate chips,butterscotch chips,etc.

Can you tell our family loves french toast?

Pain Perdu in French!Which means "lost bread" in french.
Just whip up one egg a bit, add a spoonful of sugar, a dash of milk and dip a slice or two of good bread (your french toast will be only as good as your primary ingredients!)Coat both sides. This only takes a few seconds each side!If youve used a bread that is too delicate, it will fall into pieces! Put a bit of butter Into a medium hot frying pan, let that melt and carefully slip in your eggy bread slices. Cook them on each side till golden brown, sprinkle cinnamon on top or a bit of powdered suger as they do in France or a real maple syrup as they do in US and Canada and you are in business! I like to use a thick sliced sourdough. If I'm trying to impress someone,I add a touch of orange flower water and one or two passes of grated lemon rind to the egg, milk, sugar, cinnamon mix as well! Delicious! Enjoy!

A very easy recipe- use store-bought eggnog.Soak a sturdy bread in this-use a egg bread like a challah. Soak the bread for about 10 minutes or till it's soaked thru. Make sure to turn the bread over halfway thru. Also, do this in a shallow pan or dish. It would be nice to add a little cinnamon to the mix. You are going to have a medium-hot frying pan that you've added a little butter to. Use a wide spatula to turn the toast.Brown on one side, then turn over to brown the other side.Enjoy!

Set some bread out to "stale"
overnight fine In the warm oven NOT toast
eggs well beaten
Dip the bread flip on the griddle

You can get as fancy as you wish
But egg & bread is all it is
can't think of any way to mess it up except to burn it.

it depends on how many people you are wanted to feed, for me I usually have to feed about 3 -4 people,

3 - 4 eggs
vanilla
cinnamon
and milk
just mix it all up and then dip your bread into it and start to fry, keep your heat on medium, if its to high it will cook the outside and not the inside. when it is done, if you gently with your finger or spatula press down softly on the bread and it bounces back up, it's done powdered sugar is good too to top it off with
