Can you freeze...?

pudding and cool whip. i made eclairs and the filling i used was mik, cool whip and pudding and it made a lot more than i needed. is it possibly to freeze it? and is it possible to freeze the eclair shells?

I believe you can freeze that filling, it just may have a slightly different consistency when you thaw it. The eclair shells will freeze beautifully if you cool them before you freeze them.

As for using the filling for anything else - if you haven't frozen it yet, my aunt once filled a frosted cake with something like that. It was really gooey but really good.

Maybe and yes. If the pudding utilized cornstarch as a thickener then you can't freeze it. Cornstarch-thickened items lose most of their thickening power once they are frozen.

You can definately freeze cool whip and pudding, I've done it before for a month or so and they came out okay. The shells, I don't know, because some bread products are touchy, you don't want them to be soggy when they come out.

Since you can purchase frozen eclairs, then yes, you can freeze it. Cool Whip is a frozen product to begin with, so it's no problem. The Cool Whip/Pudding combination may have a different texture when thawed, but should be all right. Freeze the shells separately (although they're best fresh). They're also quite nice filled with ice cream as a profiterole!

You can freeze cool whip and shells. But you cannot freeze pudding. Because if you freeze your pudding and you want to eat it after then you are gonna have to wait till it defreezes. And because you do not want pudding to look like ice cream. OK.

You can freeze anything. yes you can I used to freeze cool whip all the time, I still do when I know I have something to use it for. And for the eclair shells you can freeze those a well. Just wrap them in plastic wrap and put then in a freezer bag so they don't get freezer burn.

The filling can be frozen, but the shells are delicate and will get damaged long before being used unless they are wrapped in plastic wrap and stored in a solid container. Unless you have a chest freezer or nearly empty freezer section, I would just thrown them out since they are inexpensive to make.
