Question:

Angel Food Cake!?

ok, imtrying to make something for my grandma. so im making her sum angel food cake by betty crocker. and i got the rite size 10x4. and its round. but how much is it sopposedto rise?? cuz its rising over the pan. is it sopposedto do that??? i dont want it to over spill.

Answers:
Don't worry ... part of what makes it 'Angel food' is the fluffy texture of the cake ... It is supposed to rise up,
but as long as you have the right pan, it should not overflow.

If you have used an 'angle food cake pan' that has a tube in the center don't worry it shouldn't go over the edge. BUT if you have used something other than an angel food cake pan you could have a problem.

It'll be just fine. Won't spill down the sides.

The pan should be deeper.
You can place a cookie sheet underneath it to catch anything that spills over the sides so that it doesn't bake into the bottom of the oven.

You're screwed because you messed up an angel food cake and will now spend eternity in baking hell ! (just kidding) Next time ask before doing, not while it's already going wrong...

If it ruins, try a lemon pound cake. Granny will love it !
(probably more than angel food)
