I had a lot of fun making food for my daughter at this age. I steamed a variety of fruit/veggies, put them through the food processor with the water used from steaming - and then froze them in ice cube trays. When they were frozen I would pop them out and put them in a freezer ziplock. Then when it was time to eat I would grab a couple 'ice cubes' and zap them for a few seconds. It made great healthy food! As she got older I left more chunks in the food. This also works with chicken.
(Some favorites: Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Broccoli, Carrots and Apples)
Hmmmm, I would suggest:
Breakfast=
-OATMEAL. Maybe stir in some banana slices or jarred fruit such as apples, pears or peaches.
-PANCAKES/WAFFLES. Try to use whole-grain mix and for some variety, top with some pureed fruit. Like apple sauce.
-EGGS. Only serve the yolks. The whites are an allergen. In the eggs, add some cottage cheese and then scramble. Or put in mashed tofu or soft veggies.
Lunch=
-YOGURT. You should stick to the unsweetened yogurt. And add some soft to chew fruits in as well.
-SANDWICHES. Avoid peanut butter which is an allergen as well. Use very soft bread and cut off the crust. For variety, try avacado, hummus, cream cheese, and egg yolks as the middle ingredient.
-SOUP. Boil brother w/ soft veggies and noodles. Make sure to serve it luke warm.
Dinner=
-Baked Potato. remove the potato from it`s skin and mash w/ some butter cheese and soft veggies. Or, put in a mini food procesor. Along w/ some broth. For variety, add some mashed meats, tofu and beans.
-Pasta/Rice. Run through a mini food procesor along with some sauce. And maybe add some zuchinni, squash or well-shredded meats.
-ANYTHING. You can basically feed your baby anything. Make sur eyou don`t feed him/her lots of sugar or sodium. Make sure to put anything you feed him/her in a food procesor. Just make sure there isn`t anything that you give her/him to eat will choke her. And don`t give him/her anything that is allergen.
Hope I helped! :]
Fingers.
Butter a slice of toast and cut into fingers.
Home Made Rusks
Cut crusts off several slices of bread and cut into fingers. Bake in a slow oven (130C/260F) for about an hour. Cool thoroughly and store in airtight container.
French Toast.
Cut sliced bread into four, squares of triangles
Small pikelets.
Small muffins & scones.
Fruit Kebabs (use flat wooden stirrers)
That's all I can think of, it was a long time ago since I last made any.
You can get Gerber graduates which you can get at the grocery store. They're specially made fingerfoods for babies as young as yours. I hear they're really popular, so if I were you I'd try those out and see what he likes.
