Pros
I love this product, it has everything you could ever want in a kitchen appliance
Cons
It's large, but that's necessary. Other than that, this is great.

'm not big on cooking so I thought I'd give it a try. I mean when you come home you're tired! It's been a long day, maybe no one is around if you're single like me or maybe you've got little hellions to contend with. To make a meal you have to defrost something in the microwave because you forgot to pull it out of the freezer that morning. Then there's the ordeal of waiting for the oven or stove top to heat up the oven and if you're anything like me you know you're going to overcook it and it's going to be to be dry and tasteless or you're going to undercook it and you'll be able to hear the cow moo. Just UCK!
So I was flipping through channels the other day and I saw the Flavorwave oven deluxe I couldn't help myself, I was mesmerized. I watched as I began to lean toward the TV as the infomercial claimed to defrost an entire chicken right out of the freezer!
I was dumbfounded, could you really take something out of the freezer and have it ready to eat in 30 minutes? And come on, if it was ready to eat it had to taste like rubber right? I had to know if it was true.
I ordered the Flavorwave and waited, within 2 weeks it arrived at my door. At first I was a little intimidated. It's rather large, especially for my tiny little apartment kitchen. I shoved some things to the side to make some room on the countertop and started trying to figure out what all the fancy buttons meant. Not finding the buttons intuitive, even as a computer technician, I didn't find the buttons intuitive, I (of all people) actually sat down to read the manual. I was about 5 pages in, and getting very hungry and figured I'd give it a whirl.
Well, those first 5 pages were extremely helpful in clarifying the mystery of the buttons. Once I had a handle on that, I popped a frozen chicken breast with some seasoning salt and other spices on the double rack. Speaking of which that was cool, 1 rack with 2 different heights - now aren't they clever, saves space, less to clean, I was definitely starting to dig it.
Anyway, I read the instructional chart to get the right temperature and time, it may sound complicated but all of this was done in a matter of minutes. Nothing a mere mortal couldn't handle.
Well, 22 minutes later and checking on the chicken once to turn it so both sides browned it was done and that was that. (I almost forgot I watched fascinated as the light went off and on, I came to understand later when I read a few more pages in to the manual that is how the Flavorwave regulates temperature - who knew!) I was definitely impressed, but the true test was yet to come.
I popped the chicken on a plate with a small salad and took a bite. It was good, it was better than good, it was healthy all the fat had dripped in to the pan. It was moist, no frostbite flavor, no overcooking.
I had for the first time in my life made a healthy meal in less than 30 minutes without the use of a microwave, spending no more money than buying the ingredients at the supermarket and it was edible! I felt like I had won the lottery I started having daydreams of winning over guys I was dating with my newfound cooking prowess - never giving away my true secret of course. ;)
And the perks don't end there folks! If there's one thing that I've always dreaded more than cooking, it's cleaning. With the Flavorwave there were more surprises to come, feeling full and satisfied and quite pleased I went to clean up the mess. I opened the dishwasher and placed everything except the heating element in the dishwasher, poured the soap, started it up and looked around. Could you believe it there was nothing left to clean. All I had to was dust off my hands and go back to reading my novel. You wouldn't believe how satisfied I was feeling.
I'd say it was money well spent and if I had it to do all over again, I'd definitely purchase this product again.
Since this first night I've made shrimp, burgers, more chicken with different flavor - I used soy and ginger for an asian flare try it it's yummy. My microwave from all those previous frozen dinners that were loaded with preservatives is starting to collect dust. Tonight I'm gonna raid the freezer and try my hand at cooking frozen meatballs while I use my flavorwave yet again!
I had my doubts at first, but this is one happy, well-fed, newfound cooking wiz that would be happy to recommend this product to anyone.
