Question:

Any recommendations for a good olive oil for a strawberry vinaigrette?

Answers:
colonna evoo is my favourite for salad dressings. doesn't overpower and is fruity and fresh.

You are going to want a very light evoo. Something fruity by not very much. I can't give you a brand name but just figure it is not going to a cheapo oil.

Any good 'extra virgin' olive oil will be fine. Just stay away from the 'store brand'. Berio is common and very good. Also not too expesive.

I have no idea what people mean by 'fruity' because olive oil is not 'fruity'. The fruit makes it fruity, lol.

For a really wonderful flavor, though, try a good balsamic vinegar. Goes GREAT with the strawberries! It is on the expensive side, though, but worth it.

Edit: Actually, you really don't NEED olive oil. A good canola or even a nut oil, like 'walnut oil' would probably be even better. You really don't need any taste from the oil itself.

Pompeian or Bertolli are very good.

Halutza olive oil is fabulous. You can usually get it at Whole Foods or Wild Oats.
