French Toast:

4-6 servings

1 loaf Texas toast thick bread, Sliced (1 lb.)
1 dozen eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons cinnamon, ground (more if needed)
butter or shortening, to grease skillet

1. Whisk the eggs till frothy.
2. Add remaining ingredients, and mix well.
3. Over medium heat, lightly grease skillet with shortening (butter will burn very quickly, so exercise caution if using butter). I use a paper towel, so I can use it repeatedly, with every 2 or 3 pans of French toast. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, on both sides.
4. Do this quickly, so as not to completely soak the bread.
5. Cook in skillet over med/med-high heat for approx 5 min per side. You may need to flip more than once to get th e desired golden-brown color.
6. Serve with butter and powdered sugar, or preserves (my favorite) or syrup.

Brazilian French Toast

3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
? cup water
1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 tsp. dark rum
pinch of salt
3 eggs, lightly beaten
8 stale baguette slices, cut diagonally into 1” thick slices
veg. oil for frying
Powdered sugar and cinnamon for dusting

Mix the milk, water, vanilla, rum, salt & eggs together in a bowl.
Pour into a shallow baking dish. Place the baguette slices in the egg mixture, then turn them over. They should be completely submerged in the mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and place in frig for at least 4 hours or over night.
In a skillet, heat the oil to 375oF. Fry the bread and few at a time until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels, and place them on a platter and sprinkle with whatever sugars you like.

Serves 4

french toast is just bread dipped in beaten eggs, then lightly fried in butter, you can choose any bread you like: raisin bread, challah, whole wheat, and if you want to jazz it up, add vanilla extract to the eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, use your imagination. Do you have REAL maple syrup? and use butter, not margarine. bon appetite!!!

whip 2 eggs with 1 cup light cream and 2 teaspoons powdered sugar. dip day old bread into mixture and fry in medium hot pan with spray oil and melted butter till golden brown both sides, stack and add more melted butter and maple syrup, fresh fruit or more powdered sugar.

PREPARATION:

1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, cut into bits

Clarify butter: In a small heavy saucepan melt butter over low heat. Remove pan from heat and let butter stand 3 minutes. Skim froth and pour butter through a sieve lined with a double thickness of rinsed and squeezed cheesecloth into a bowl, discarding milk solids in bottom of pan.

In a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and rum. Transfer half of mixture to a large shallow baking dish (about 13 by 9 by 2 inches) and soak half of bread slices 10 minutes. Turn slices over and soak 10 minutes more. In another large shallow baking dish spread half of corn flakes and coat soaked bread slices on each side, transferring to a tray. Soak and coat remaining slices with remaining egg mixture and corn flakes in same manner.

Preheat oven to 250°F.

In a large heavy skillet heat 2 tablespoons clarified butter over moderate heat until hot but not smoking and cook 2 or 3 slices (or as many as will fit in one layer) 3 minutes on each side, or until puffed and golden brown. Transfer French toast as cooked to a baking sheet and keep warm in oven. Cook remaining slices in remaining butter in same manner.

Sprinkle French toast with cinnamon sugar and serve with accompaniments.

You go to your nearest grocery store and go to your freezer dept. and look for a box that says french toast put it in your basket then go get some syrup, butter or margarine and then if you would like some powder sugar. Check out

Its pretty easy. Just take 2 eggs mixed with about 1/4 cup of milk and a pinch of cinnamon. Dip slices of bread into the mixture, and cook in a skillit ( medium heat) for about 2 minutes on each side.

This should be a special occasion, once a year kind of a meal.

This is comfort food. Which means, it makes you fat with high cholesterol.

Hot from my recipe to your desk top:-
French Toast.

2-3 size 6 (46 g) eggs
1/3 cup Milk
? teaspoon cinnamon
? teaspoon vanilla
1 table spoon sugar
1-2 tablespoons oil or butter
4 slices toast bread.

Beat eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla and sugar together until well blended.
Heat oil in fry pan until hot.
Dip slices of bread in egg mix, both sides.
Do not soak the bread.
Cook on both sides 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

simple dear!!! take 2 slices of bread. 2 eggs beaten. Apply cheeze to it and fry them two sides in a pan. Now when the slices are still on the pan, pour beaten egg on to it with little salt and pepper. and let it get fried on both the sides....finish.....
